Sega Launches Official Sonic Discord Server, Flooded on Day One
Sega opened an official Sonic the Hedgehog Discord with channels for games, films and Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, then enabled slowmode after inappropriate posts.
Sega has launched an official Discord server for Sonic the Hedgehog fans, and according to Kotaku the server was flooded with inappropriate content on its first day.
The server includes channels for series announcements, discussion of the games and live-action films, and finding groups to play Sonic Racing: Crossworlds.
It carries a rule against AI-generated content and enforces family-friendly content rules. Those rules did not prevent inappropriate posts from appearing on day one, and users shared screenshots of the material on October 5 and 6, 2026.
Sega has since enabled Slowmode on the server, requiring a two-minute wait between messages.
