Silent Hill 2 Remake Joins PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium

Silent Hill 2 Remake is now available at no extra cost to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members. The offer runs until mid-October, giving subscribers a chance to play the 2024 survival horror title.

Developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami Digital Entertainment, the remake launched on October 8, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC. It rebuilds the 2001 original in Unreal Engine 5 and takes around 15–20 hours to complete.

The story follows James Sunderland, who returns to Silent Hill after being summoned by his dead wife. It is a standalone experience, with only brief Easter eggs referencing previous entries.

Silent Hill 2 Remake holds a Top Critic Average of 87/100 on OpenCritic, with 94% critic recommendation. It is rated M for Mature 17+ for Blood and Gore, Language, Sexual Themes, and Violence.

As reported by Screen Rant, the offer arrives as the franchise continues to expand, with Silent Hill Townfall announced as the latest entry. The original Silent Hill 2 recently marked its 25th anniversary.
