Songbird Productions confirmed the full release window and released a new trailer, but has not announced an exact date or price.

Songbird Productions has confirmed that the full version of Star Streak will be released for the Atari Jaguar in the first quarter of 2027, according to gamerant.com. A new trailer for the 2D arcade shooter has also been released.

The full version adds animated backgrounds, a soundtrack, explosion animations and sound effects, along with new power-ups and enemies, new game modes and rotary control support.

Songbird Productions said it is excited to publish the full version of Star Streak but did not reveal an exact release date or price. Pre-orders were not open at the time of writing.

From hobby project to full cartridge

Developer David Cummings worked on Star Streak as a hobby for several years. In 2024, he partnered with Songbird Productions to release an early version of the game limited to 100 cartridges, priced at $59.99; that early physical release sold out.

The Atari Jaguar itself launched in 1993 and was retired in 1996.
