NateTheHate: Starfield Switch 2 Port Likely Shelved

Insider NateTheHate said the rumored Starfield port for Nintendo Switch 2 has faced numerous obstacles and has likely been shelved for now. NateTheHate added that they would not be surprised if the port were canceled entirely.

Fellow insider Shinobi602 said the Starfield Switch 2 port has faced internal delays and may never release. The claims were reported by gamerant.com.

Starfield has been rumored to be getting a Switch 2 port since August 2025, with rumors ramping up in March 2026 before the PlayStation 5 port launch. The game released on PS5 in 2026 alongside the Terran Armada expansion and the Free Lanes update, with PS5 sales reportedly underwhelming.

Bethesda has already released Switch 2 ports of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The studio is also confirmed to be working on remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, along with a new Fallout game from Obsidian Entertainment. Development of The Elder Scrolls 6 is said to be targeting a late 2027 or 2028 release window.

Neither Bethesda nor Nintendo has announced a Starfield Switch 2 port.
