Valheim lead engineer's Starpath passes 90,000 Steam wishlists

The space survival sim from Jonathan Smårs lets players build and upgrade their own ship; seamless planet landing is planned after launch.

Starpath, a space survival sim in development from Jonathan Smårs, Valheim's lead engineer and designer, has surpassed 90,000 wishlists on Steam ahead of its launch, according to screenrant.com.

Players design, build and upgrade their own spaceship and navigate space to survive. The game offers both offline and online modes and a retro aesthetic.

The initial Steam launch will let players fly through space, scan planets, gather resources and discover new technologies aboard abandoned ships. Seamless planet landing is planned for a later point after launch.

Smårs worked as lead engineer and designer on Valheim, the open-world survival game from developer Iron Gate AB that launched in 1.0 on February 2, 2021. Valheim amassed millions of sales in a short time and later came to consoles.
