Steam Tops 2025's Full-Year Game Releases With Months Left in 2026

Steam has already logged 21,388 game releases in 2026 as of October 16, 2026, surpassing the 21,248 games added to the platform across all of 2025, according to data tracked by SteamDB.

That works out to roughly 66 game releases per day on Valve's storefront.

The site SteamPageAnalyzer projects the 2026 total will reach at least 24,000 games by the end of the year.

In 2025, 21,248 new games were added to Steam. That total was almost 3,000 more than 2024, which itself beat 2023 by over 4,000.

Kotaku's reporting in July 2026 addressed the growing power of vibe coding for creating game rip-offs in hours, and in October 2026 Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 made decompilation and web-based game cloning far more common.
