Steam Next Fest Opens With Record 8,200-Plus Games
The October 2026 edition runs until October 27 and roughly doubles the lineup of the previous festival four months ago.
Steam Next Fest opened at 2:00 AM Korean time on October 20 with more than 8,200 participating games, making it the largest edition of the demo festival to date, according to gamemeca.com. The event runs until 2:00 AM on October 27.
The lineup is roughly double the size of the previous edition, which took place four months earlier. The surge in submissions is attributed in part to AI-assisted "vibe coding," which the report cites as a key factor behind the increase.
During the festival, players can try demos of upcoming titles and browse developer livestreams and announcements hosted on Steam.
Growth since June
At the June 2026 edition, the participating game count was around 4,000 or more. The October edition's figure of more than 8,200 marks a sharp jump in four months.
