Tokyo Disneyland's Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue Sets April 15, 2027 Debut
Oriental Land also plans a smartphone mini-game from January 2027, Tomorrowland decorations and Cinderella Castle projection mapping.
Oriental Land has announced that Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, its new attraction at Tokyo Disneyland, will hold its grand opening on April 15, 2027, according to game.watch.impress.co.jp. The ride is set in the world of the film Wreck-It Ralph.
Riders board vehicles and travel through scenes of a sweets kingdom, turning Sugar Bugs back into cute sweets and earning scores based on the type and number they collect. Scores can be checked on the vehicle display and later in the Tokyo Disney Resort app, and ride photos are automatically registered in the app's My Photo section for purchase.
The music is by Henry Jackman, composer of Wreck-It Ralph, with newly recorded tracks. In October 2025 the attraction's opening had been scheduled for spring 2027.
Rollout begins in January 2027
A smartphone mini-game about saving the Wreck-It Ralph world launches on January 12, 2027. From February 18, 2027, decorations themed to the attraction appear in Tomorrowland, and from March 18, 2027, projection mapping themed to the ride will be shown on Cinderella Castle.
The popcorn stand Popping Station opens on March 17, 2027, and the shop Pixel Prism opens on April 15, 2027, the same day as the attraction.
