Tamagotchi Kanji Worksheets Released by Kanji Kentei Foundation

The Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation released original worksheets titled "Tamagotchi Kanji Test" on its website on October 13, 2026, in collaboration with Bandai's Tamagotchi franchise. The worksheets are themed on Neon Planets, the latest device in the Tamagotchi Paradise series.

The question range covers Kanji Kentei levels 10, corresponding to the end of elementary grade 1, through level 5, corresponding to the end of elementary grade 6. The material includes dictation questions based on Tamagotchi descriptions and the new characters appearing in Neon Planets, along with "kanji trivia" explaining how kanji are structured, so children can practice characters learned in elementary school while engaging with the Tamagotchi worldview.

The worksheets can be downloaded from the foundation's website and are distributed free to schools and educational organizations nationwide. They are also handed out at the Kanji Museum, where admission fees apply.

The collaboration comes ahead of the Tamagotchi Paradise - Neon Planets release on November 21, 2026. The device features a zoom function and a "planet switching" function for playing across multiple planets, targets ages 6 and up, and will be sold at toy stores and online shops nationwide. Tamagotchi will mark its 30th anniversary on November 23, 2026.
