Terraglass, a sandbox world in a desktop jar, announced for PC
Developer Teacup Worlds says players can pour sand, water and lava into the jar, which keeps running while other apps are used.
Teacup Worlds has announced that it is developing Terraglass, a sandbox game for PC via Steam, according to news.denfaminicogamer.jp. No release date has been given.
In Terraglass, players build a small world inside a glass jar placed on the desktop. Sand, water, soil and stone can be poured in to form mountains and rivers, with flowing water eroding the ground over time. Lava poured into the jar can boil lakes, and the game's phenomena interact: lava cools into rock, and rain puts out fire.
Players can also add creatures, including fish and crabs, while butterflies appear by day and fireflies at night. Houses and trees can be placed to build villages, and players can take direct control of villagers and creatures in either first-person or third-person view.
The jar can sit in a corner of the desktop, with its position and size adjustable while other applications are used, and the world continues to run in the background.
Terraglass currently supports English only.
