Owlcat Games Announces The Expanse: Osiris Reborn for Spring 2027

The third-person action RPG will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, and hit Xbox Game Pass on day one.

Owlcat Games has announced The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, a new third-person action RPG set in The Expanse universe. The game is scheduled to launch in spring 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

On PC, the game will be available through Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on its launch day.

The Expanse: Osiris Reborn tells an original story rather than adapting one of the novels. It takes place alongside the early events of The Expanse, beginning around the Eros crisis. Players create their own captain and can choose an Earther, Martian or Belter background.

The game features an ensemble cast, including the protagonist's twin J, mechanic Zafar, mercenary Michael and medic Teo. James S.A. Corey, the author of The Expanse novels, is attached to the project.

Owlcat Games previously developed Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. The Expanse television series was cancelled by Syfy after its third season, revived by Prime Video for three more seasons and concluded in 2022, while the original novels extend beyond the point where the adaptation ended.
