Omaet Games Shows The Midnight Barber at gamescom 2026

Omaet Games presented its narrative adventure game The Midnight Barber at gamescom 2026, according to 4gamer.net. A Steam store page for the title is already published.

The game takes place in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter at the end of the 1970s, in a barbershop that opens only at midnight. The player character is a barber named Clara, who styles the hair of supernatural customers such as vampires, werewolves and witches. The regular customer Diana is a fairy, a duende from Spanish folklore, while Gabriel is a werewolf who visits without an appointment.

Haircutting runs on a rhythm game system: scissors, clippers, combs, razors and spray bottles are operated in time with each customer's inner rhythm. That rhythm is tied to original background music based on 1970s progressive rock and flamenco, and playing in tempo unlocks song layers and further treatment steps.

There is no game over from mistakes. Good rhythm makes the melody sync and loosens the customer's guard, opening up conversation, and dialogue choices during haircuts let the player draw out new topics or point out contradictions to gather information.

A newspaper and a barber chair

A scene lets the player read a newspaper delivered at the start of the workday; in the demo it carried a headline about a bogeyman's mysterious death plus about three small articles.

Omaet Games' Carles Martín is the developer of The Midnight Barber. A barber chair was set up at the booth so visitors could sit and play.
