The Walking Trade launches on Xbox Series X|S

The zombie-apocalypse store management game, already out on PC, arrives on Microsoft's consoles on October 26, 2026.

The Walking Trade launched on Xbox Series X|S on October 26, 2026, according to news.xbox.com. The store management game, set during a zombie apocalypse, had previously been released on PC.

Players design store layouts, set prices and hire survivors, while also defending the shop against zombie raids. A crafting station lets them produce medicine, weapons, tools and upgrades.

On the game's second day, a survivor named Robin becomes the player's first staff member.

Work on The Walking Trade began in October 2024, when its developer was about to be laid off from a job as a software developer at an indie game publisher. The PC version arrived around 18 months after development started.

After that PC release, players on YouTube and Twitch tried to keep Robin alive for entire playthroughs, the outlet reported.
