New Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis video marks series' 30th anniversary
The trailer, first shown at TR30 in Derby and MCM Comic Con 2026 in London, includes a scene in which Lara Croft's body turns to gold.
A new video for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was released on October 26, marking the 30th anniversary of the Tomb Raider series. The video was first shown at the Tomb Raider event TR30 in Derby, UK, on October 24 local time, and at MCM Comic Con 2026 in London, held October 23-25, according to news.denfaminicogamer.jp.
The footage shows Lara Croft exploring ruins and fighting wild beasts. In one scene she is held at gunpoint from behind by a man, and in another her body turns into gold.
The game is described officially as a reimagining of the first Tomb Raider, released in 1996, rather than a remake. It is scheduled for release on February 13, 2027, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam.
At a media hands-on event in Los Angeles in June, players could try scenes in which Velociraptors and a Tyrannosaurus appear while exploring jungle ruins.
Lo-fi collection video also released
A lo-fi collection video was released alongside the anniversary, featuring Lara drinking tea at a desk with remixed music from the series. Since the first game launched in 1996, more than 20 titles have been released and the series has sold about 100 million copies cumulatively.
