Unknown Passenger 47 Steam page opens, release date undecided

The identity-matching mystery from the developer behind UNREAD 33 is already playable free on unityroom and itch.io, with the Steam version still undated.

The developer behind the identity-matching mystery game Unknown Passenger 47 opened a Steam store page for the title on October 25, 2026, according to Automaton Media. The game is planned for release on PC via Steam with in-game Japanese support, but the Steam version's release date remains undecided.

Unknown Passenger 47 is a text-based identity-matching mystery in the 'Obra Dinn-like' genre. It is set at the crash site of a Taipei-to-Tokyo passenger plane where 47 people died but 48 bodies were recovered. Players examine 17 kinds of supporting documents — including body records, a discovery-area map, crew memos and a device asset ledger — and input passenger and crew numbers matched to body numbers in a matching system.

The game includes a work desk for arranging documents and sticky notes, a three-stage hint function and no time limit, with an estimated play time of 2–3 hours. The browser version is playable free to the end.

Unknown Passenger 47 has been available for free on unityroom and itch.io since September 26, 2026, and recorded about 60,000 page views on unityroom. As of writing, it has 74 reviews, scoring at least 3.5 out of 5 in novelty, visuals and controls and at least 4 stars in atmosphere, sound and fun. The game was made during the Silver Week holidays and is positioned as an entry point to 'Obra Dinn-like' games.
