A WebAssembly port of Grand Theft Auto V built with AI went live on PlayGTA5.com and was pulled the same day, according to Tom's Hardware.
An unofficial browser-based port of Grand Theft Auto V appeared on PlayGTA5.com and was taken offline within hours of going live. Visitors who tried to load the page were met with Cloudflare Error 1014 before the site was replaced with a 1970s food advertisement.
Alex St. Louis, founder of Wonder Interactive, shared a clip of the in-browser gameplay on X and said the game had been ported to WebAssembly using AI. Tom's Hardware reported the takedown.
The game can still be reached through online archives, according to the same report.
Earlier takedowns
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games, previously shut down a similar browser port of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The publisher also sent a cease-and-desist letter to the creator of a GTA V homebrew port for the Nintendo Switch.
