Valve to Overhaul Steam Discounts With Personalised System by 2027
Valve is rebuilding Steam's Discount & Events section into a dynamic, personalised system, with full rollout set for early 2027.
Valve is updating Steam's Discount & Events section, replacing the current setup with a dynamic and personalised system. The company says the new system will be fully implemented in early 2027.
According to gamesindustry.biz, Valve said that moving away from manual curation has allowed it to display ten times more games daily. Developers will also receive new and updated tools for managing discounts and sale events.
Some developers have already noticed changes to how discounts and events appear. Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender is among those who have spotted the shift.
The change follows Valve's earlier work on Steam's tagging system this year, when it introduced 17 new classifications, removed 28, and merged or renamed several others.
