Valve Adds Delivery Windows to Steam Frame Reservations, Releases CAD Files

Reservation holders now see whether their unit is expected by December 2026 or in 2027; CAD files are available for non-commercial use, according to GamingOnLinux.

Valve has released an update that gives Steam Frame reservation holders a clearer view of when their unit is expected to arrive, and has published Steam Frame CAD files for non-commercial use. The reservation page now indicates whether a holder can expect delivery by December 2026 or sometime in 2027, according to GamingOnLinux.

For reservation holders whose units are expected in 2027, Valve said more information will be provided by January.

The company also reminded customers that a purchase must be completed within 72 hours of receiving the reservation email, otherwise the unit is offered to someone else. Valve added that waitlisted users may receive a reservation if someone decides not to purchase.

CAD files and earlier SteamOS work

The CAD files are published for non-commercial use, giving owners and designers reference material for the hardware. In October 2025, Valve released SteamOS 0.4 for Steam Frame with what it described as major upgrades, a separate update that preceded the reservation changes.
