In VCR83, players monitor live security cameras, report anomalies and survive their shifts. Successful reports earn Tokens that are used to unlock new levels.
The game features Pete, a virtual assistant players can chat with. VCR83 can create folders, interact with Windows Search and open programs such as Paint. It can also use Steam friends information and location information for personalised events.
VCR83 includes four playable locations, each with its own cameras, anomalies, atmosphere, secrets and story. Each level unlocks a unique 3-5 minute playable Aftermath sequence.
