Streamer KatieRouu Banned from Wardogs for In-Game Money Exploit

Developer Bulkhead confirmed the exploit has been fixed for Season 2 and added data tracking for the behavior.

Streamer KatieRouu has been banned from Wardogs after using an exploit to generate in-game money, according to IGN. The exploit involved placing sniper lookout towers at a forward-operating base and allowing the enemy team to capture it. Her squad then fired mortars at the captured base from another position to earn money from destroying enemy structures and assists.

Wardogs developer Bulkhead stated that the exploit has been fixed for Season 2. The studio also added data tracking for the exploit behavior and events.

Wardogs is a first-person shooter where players earn in-game money as mercs by doing activities like recon and logistics, which can be converted to gold for cosmetics. Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer posted a response to the ban, acknowledging KatieRouu as a regular player but stating she took advantage of an exploit and promoted it. Brammer noted that many players involved converted exploited cash into gold bars and skins, and that the ban team acted appropriately or leniently.

The official Wardogs Twitter account posted that known cash and XP exploit abuse will no longer be tolerated and punishments will stand.
