Warframe's The Icebind six-player mode launches after delay

The Icebind, formerly Glacial Defiance, is a six-player mode without public matchmaking, Digital Extremes says. A reward is given to all who finish the mission.

The Icebind, the six-player mode previously known as Glacial Defiance, has launched in Warframe, according to PCGamesN. The mode arrived after a delay of just over a week.

Digital Extremes has said The Icebind does not use public matchmaking, meaning players cannot rely on random groups to fill the roster. The studio also confirmed the mode is not classified as a raid and is not a revival of Warframe's earlier eight-player Trials.

Rewards in The Icebind are performance-based, with additional rewards for completing optional side challenges. All players who complete the mission receive a reward.

Background

The launch follows the release of the Iceblade of Narin update, which introduced the Narin frame, described as the first female Ice frame. The Glacial Defiance mode was delayed by just over a week before being renamed The Icebind.

Looking further ahead, 2026 will bring the Tau update, which takes Warframe outside the Origin system for the first time, and glimpses of the new Chimera Frames, specifically Brysko, have been shown.
