Warhorse co-founder hopes GTA 6 will raise game prices

Martin Klima says Rockstar and Take-Two are the only companies that can afford to increase the unit price of games, and he hopes GTA 6 does it.

Martin Klima, co-founder of Warhorse Studios, said in an interview with PC Gamer that he hopes GTA 6 will lead to higher game prices across the industry. Klima described increasing the unit price of games as the last option available, and said Rockstar and Take-Two are the only companies that can afford to do it.

Klima also said he is not interested in playing GTA 6 and does not understand its popularity. His comments were reported by Eurogamer.

GTA 6 is priced at £69.99 in the UK and $79.99 for the Standard Edition in the US, with the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. The game is scheduled for release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026.

Last year, Xbox attempted to launch The Outer Worlds 2 at $80 before reverting to $70. Rockstar is also involved in an employment tribunal in Scotland over union-busting accusations by fired workers.
