WePlay Expo to Hold First Japan Edition in April 2027

The first Japanese edition of the Chinese game show WePlay Expo will be held from April 2 to April 4, 2027 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, according to inven.co.kr.
The event will be organized by the WePlay Expo JAPAN executive committee, with CiGA participating as licensor and producer. The show will offer hands-on demos of games across PC, console and mobile platforms, ranging from AAA to indie titles.
April 2, 2027 will be reserved as a business day for industry visitors, while April 3 and 4 will be open to the general public. Ticket prices and sales schedule will be announced later.
Detailed programs are still in the planning stage and may change, organizers said.
WePlay Expo began in Shanghai, China in 2017. In 2025, Neowiz presented 'SANNABI: The Revenant', 'Hello Seoul: Itaewon' and 'Kill the Shadow' in a solo booth at the event. Smilegate also set up a joint booth with Chinese publisher Thermite in 2025 to introduce indie games published by STOVE. BIC supported Korean indie games' participation in WePlay Expo in 2024 and 2025. About 500 games from 13 countries and regions participated in the 2025 edition. The 2026 WePlay Expo, marking its 10th anniversary, will be held in Shanghai from November 21 to 22.
