Witcher 3 Remastered Claimed Free on Switch 2 With Rented Cartridge
A YouTube channel demonstrated a method to claim The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 for free using a borrowed physical cartridge.
A method to obtain The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 for free without previously owning the game has been demonstrated by the YouTube channel SwitchPlayed, according to screenrant.com.
The method requires inserting a physical Nintendo Switch cartridge of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt into the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The game must be updated to version 4.04d for the option to appear.
Once updated, an option labeled 'AVAILABLE NOW ON NINTENDO SWITCH 2' appears at the bottom of the main menu. Selecting it allows the user to claim the remastered version.
According to screenrant.com, the method effectively means a player who borrows the original Switch cartridge can trigger the claim, provided the game is updated to the required version.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was originally released in 2015. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered launched earlier this month on GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. A free upgrade is available on Nintendo Switch 2 for those who already own the game on Nintendo Switch.
