WoW: Midnight Patch 12.1.5 Launches With Bugs, Unpopular Labyrinth
Blizzard fixed many of the worst bugs in a hotfix on October 16, but the new Kindo'jan labyrinth still lacks save points and the story kills off Liadrin.
World of Warcraft: Midnight's patch 12.1.5 went live on October 13, adding new story quests, a single-boss raid and a labyrinth called Kindo'jan. The update arrived with numerous bugs, including players falling through the final boss arena floor of Kindo'jan and being unable to earn credit for boss kills or collect rewards.
Blizzard deployed a hotfix on October 16 that addressed many of the most glaring issues. However, labyrinths currently have no save points or checkpoints and must be completed in a single session, a design that compounds the frustration of the buggy launch.
The patch's story also kills off Liadrin, a blood elf paladin, in a confrontation with the resurrected Old God general Kithix in the new raid encounter. The character death has proven unpopular with players.
Meanwhile, Blizzard said its beta for World of Warcraft: Forever is breaking records ahead of the game's November 4 launch. The studio has been communicating about Forever through weekly podcasts, forum posts and frequent updates.
Background
In April, Blizzard released patch 12.0.5 in an extremely buggy state and issued a public apology, saying it would take lessons learned and do better.
