Xbox Unveils Nano Controller, Its Smallest Ever, at 8,000 Yen
Pre-orders opened on announcement day, with a November launch planned across more than 30 markets including Japan, the US and the UK.
Microsoft announced the XBOX Nano Controller on October 14, 2026, describing it as the smallest Xbox controller ever made. The controller measures slightly more than 5 inches (12.7 cm) long and weighs 3.5 ounces (99 grams), according to news.xbox.com.
Despite the reduced size, Microsoft says the Nano keeps all 18 inputs required for gameplay in the familiar Xbox layout. It also includes a built-in rechargeable battery and a customizable Action Button for shortcuts such as taking screenshots and recording gameplay.
The controller supports Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth. Its suggested price is 8,000 yen, and pre-orders opened on the day of the announcement.
Microsoft plans to launch the XBOX Nano Controller in November in Japan, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, South Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Trinidad and Tobago, the UK and the US. The company said more regions are planned later.
Microsoft also cited Minecraft Dungeons II as a game suited to local co-op play with the compact pad.
