Yellow Brick Games has begun laying off staff, with several employees announcing their departures on LinkedIn. RPS has contacted the studio for comment.

Yellow Brick Games has begun laying off staff, with several employees announcing their departures on LinkedIn. The scale of the layoffs is not yet known.

Those known to be affected include Senior Environment/Hard Surface Artist Derian McCrea, Graphics Engineer Adam Clapsaddle, Software Programmer Rebecca Bélanger, QA Lead Jessica Chapados Arseneault and Senior Level Designer Julien Tonsuso, according to RPS. It is not known whether the layoffs extend beyond these staff or whether there was a specific reason for them.

RPS has contacted Yellow Brick Games for comment.

The studio was co-founded in 2020 by original Dragon Age creative Mike Laidlaw along with a number of former Ubisoft developers. As of April 2024, reports at the time of the game's announcement put the studio at 68 people.

Yellow Brick Games released and self-published Eternal Strands in January 2025, and the game received a free DLC expansion in April 2025.
