Nintendo launches Ocarina of Time remake on Switch 2

The full remake adds new graphics, full voice acting and microphone-based ocarina play, with a packaged version priced at 8,980 yen.

Nintendo released a full remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, according to news.denfaminicogamer.jp. The packaged version costs 8,980 yen including tax, while the download version is priced at 7,980 yen including tax.

The remake features new graphics, full voice acting and reworked sound, along with adjustments made for improved ease of play. The ocarina itself can be played by singing or humming into the microphone as well as with instruments, using the hardware features of Nintendo Switch 2.

Story review and linked services

A new feature called Trail of Time lets players review their adventure in the form of a story and check their next objective. The game also supports ZELDA NOTES, a service linked to a smartphone.

Nintendo plans to release amiibo figures of Child Link and Child Zelda in 2027; these grant special masks in-game, and other Zelda series amiibo are supported as well. A related product, the Electric Ocarina of Time, also goes on sale on November 5.

The original The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time came out on the Nintendo 64 about 28 years ago. On October 29, Nintendo released a Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition of the Nintendo Switch 2 for the Japanese market.
