Sarah J. Maas sets seventh A Court of Thorns and Roses book for January 2027

A Court of Forgotten Melody continues the Valkyrie Cycle begun in A Court of Splintered Harmony, which Maas released this month.

Sarah J. Maas' seventh A Court of Thorns and Roses book, A Court of Forgotten Melody, is scheduled for release on January 12, 2027, according to collider.com. The announcement follows the release this month of the sixth book in the series, A Court of Splintered Harmony.

A Court of Forgotten Melody is a direct sequel to A Court of Splintered Harmony and was written alongside it. The two books split a larger story arc: A Court of Splintered Harmony carries Movement I of The Valkyrie Cycle, while A Court of Forgotten Melody contains Movements II and III.

The release schedule places the next installment roughly a year and a half after the sixth book. A Court of Silver Flames, the fifth entry in the series, was released in 2021.

When the two new books were announced earlier this year, Maas said she had not yet started writing the eighth novel in the series.
