James Watkins confirms Aaron Paul's Clayface cameo as Jimmy
The director says Paul's brief finale appearance was cut down from a larger scene that included flashbacks with a younger Matt Hagan.
Aaron Paul appears in Clayface as Jimmy, the deceased abusive father of Matt Hagan, in a cameo during the film's finale, director James Watkins has confirmed. The filmmaker told JoBlo that the brief appearance is Paul, closing off speculation about the role.
Watkins said Paul was originally part of a larger scene, which included a flashback sequence featuring a younger Matt, that was cut from the finished film. That leaves Paul's turn as Jimmy limited to the closing stretch of the movie.
Clayface was directed by Watkins and stars Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagan, alongside Naomi Ackie and Max Minghella.
The film carries an R-rating for strong bloody violence, gore, language, some nudity and brief drug use.
Earlier reception
Watkins, previously known for Speak No Evil, directed the film. In his review, JoBlo's Chris Bumbray called Clayface a down-and-dirty revenge flick and said it was the best movie in James Gunn's DCU to date.
