ABC Holds High Potential, Shifting Gears, Celebrity Jeopardy! Until 2027

ABC is holding several of its notable series until 2027, part of a broader scheduling strategy across ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. High Potential season 3, Shifting Gears season 3, and Celebrity Jeopardy! season 5 will all arrive in 2027 on ABC.

High Potential no longer needs the Dancing With the Stars lead-in, according to ABC. The network is using that Tuesday slot to launch season 2 of R.J. Decker instead.

Shifting Gears, which originally premiered as a midseason series in January 2025, will return for its third season in 2027. Meanwhile, ABC is pairing Abbott Elementary with the returning Scrubs revival on Wednesday nights.

Celebrity Jeopardy!, hosted by Ken Jennings, will also wait until 2027 for its fifth season. Will Trent season 5 is part of ABC's 2027 midseason lineup. The series has not received a traditional fall premiere since season 2; ABC previously shifted it to January alongside The Rookie.
