Ahsoka season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027, and the new trailer indicates the series is shifting from hard science fiction toward science fantasy, according to Screen Rant.
The trailer places less emphasis on technical detail and more on Force-related and fantastical elements. The season still carries a science-fiction thread in Grand Admiral Thrawn's attack on the New Republic.
Its story also involves Baylan Skoll searching for the Mortis gods and Anakin's Force ghost, both of which pull the series further into fantasy territory.
Season 1 leaned mainly on samurai and hard sci-fi elements, including extragalactic travel and the search for Peridea. Other Star Wars series have taken different routes: Andor was a political and spy thriller, while Skeleton Crew was a family-friendly adventure show.
