Ahsoka Season 2 Set for January 20, 2027, as Star Wars Scales Back TV
Lucasfilm's only upcoming live-action Star Wars show is Ahsoka season 2; no more Mandalorian seasons are in development, and Star Wars: Starfighter hits theaters May 28, 2027.
Ahsoka season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027, according to screenrant.com. It is the only upcoming live-action Star Wars series currently lined up for the streaming service.
After Ahsoka season 2, the only other Star Wars show in the Disney+ pipeline is Maul: Shadow Lord season 2, due in 2027. No further seasons of The Mandalorian are in development, and the Star Wars: Visions and Tales anthologies have ended.
On the film side, Star Wars: Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling, is scheduled for release on May 28, 2027.
How the slate has narrowed
Disney+ launched in 2019 and has carried a steady stream of live-action Star Wars shows since then, including The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka season 1 and The Acolyte season 1. The Mandalorian season 1 arrived at the end of the sequel trilogy, and a Rangers of the New Republic series was floated at one point.
Maul: Shadow Lord, an animated spinoff, debuted in April 2026. The Mandalorian and Grogu was a box office disappointment earlier in 2026.
