Amazon MGM drops trailer for Ali G: Who Iz I
The trailer shows Morgana Robinson as a pregnant Julie, with Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G mistaking her bump for wind.
Amazon MGM released the trailer for Ali G: Who Iz I on October 23, according to Variety, giving a first look at Morgana Robinson as Julie, Ali G's girlfriend.
In the trailer, Julie appears heavily pregnant, and Ali G tells a doctor that her bump is wind or a big poo. He also says he wants to be an absent father.
Robinson said Sacha Baron Cohen, who returns as Ali G, required her to stay in character off set during the production.
The film is Baron Cohen's first Ali G feature in almost 25 years. Casting for the Julie role went through waves of auditions and took about a year, and parts of the film were shot in secret in the desert in Palm Springs.
The project has drawn criticism for what critics describe as outdated racist stereotypes and mockery of the working class, and there have been calls in the U.K. for cinemas to boycott it.
