Apple TV Takes Worldwide Rights to Australian Series Dustfall

Apple TV has acquired Dustfall, starring Anna Torv as a detective, for all territories outside Australia, where it airs on ABC.

Apple TV has acquired worldwide rights to the Australian series Dustfall, excluding Australia, according to Deadline. The deal covers all territories outside the show's home market, where it airs on ABC.

Dustfall stars Anna Torv as detective Antigone "Tig" Pollard. The cast also includes Juliet Stevenson, Peter Fenton and Bert LaBonté.

The series is based on the award-winning novel The Unbelieved by Vikki Petraitis. Emma Freeman directs, and the TV adaptation was written by Dianne Taylor, Stuart Page, Belinda Chayko and Beatrix Christian. Federation Studios is the seller.

Under the arrangement, Apple TV will be able to air Dustfall outside Australia after its run on ABC in Australia, BBC in the UK and ZDF in Germany.

Apple TV's Australian Push

The acquisition follows Apple TV's recent launch of its first Australian original, Last Seen, starring Patrick Brammall. Earlier this year, the service also bought the British series Small Prophets from Mackenzie Crook.
