At New York Comic Con, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko announced a new animated series titled Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos for Paramount+, according to Screen Rant.
Bryan Konietzko is the showrunner for the series, which is produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. The show features Kuruk as the main character, described as a rebellious teen Avatar.
Attendees at the NYCC panel saw a first look at Kuruk and his pet Nikik.
Also at the event, Avatar: Seven Havens was renewed for Books 3 and 4. That series premiered on October 9, 2025.
Other franchise entries include Netflix's live-action remake of Avatar: The Last Airbender, released in 2024, and the animated film Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, released in summer 2025.
