Avengers: Doomsday promo images show updated Shang-Chi and Nightcrawler costumes

New promotional renders also feature Ant-Man, Captain America, Professor X and Magneto ahead of the film's December 18, 2026 release.

New promotional images for Avengers: Doomsday have appeared online after being shared by the fan account HEXFacility on X, according to comingsoon.net. The renders show character designs for Shang-Chi, Ant-Man, Captain America (Sam Wilson), Professor X, Magneto and Nightcrawler.

The images present Shang-Chi and Nightcrawler in costumes with updated designs for the film. The X-Men characters' looks echo their classic Fox-era designs while adding new Marvel Cinematic Universe details.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026. The film brings the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men together against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, with Anthony and Joe Russo directing.

Returning faces

Simu Liu first played Shang-Chi in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in 2021; he has said the character has since grown older and more confident in his identity and responsibilities. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Alan Cumming originated their X-Men roles in Fox's franchise over two decades ago. Cumming has said his Nightcrawler makeup now takes roughly 90 minutes, compared with nearly five hours on X2 in 2003, and described the Doomsday experience as healing after a difficult time on the earlier film.

A sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is set to follow in December 2027.
