Avengers: Endgame Encore Tops China Box Office With $12.5M
Marvel's Avengers: Endgame Encore led mainland China's Sept. 25-27 weekend with $12.5 million, as the market's year-to-date gross fell 29.4%.
Avengers: Endgame Encore ruled mainland China's box office for the Sept. 25-27 weekend, grossing RMB83.8 million ($12.5 million), according to data reported by Variety. The Marvel Studios release has now accumulated a lifetime gross of $647.8 million in the market.
Once Upon a Time in the Middle East held second place with $7.6 million in its seventh weekend. Directed by Wen Muye and starring Shen Teng, Jiang Qiming, Aarif Rahman and Omar Sherif, the film has earned $341.2 million since its Aug. 11 release.
All Wishes Come True! took third with $4.6 million in its eleventh weekend. The Mu Zhengyang-directed title has grossed $296 million since July 18.
Newcomer The Old Fox, directed by Li Taige and starring Yu Qian and Tony Leung Ka-fai, debuted fourth with $3.6 million. V, directed by Han Yan and starring Tony Leung Ka-fai, Zhu Yilong, Tan Jianci and Kara Wai, rounded out the top five with $2.8 million in its sixth weekend for a $96 million cume.
Overall weekend grosses in mainland China reached $39.9 million. The 2026 year-to-date China box office stands at $4.34 billion, down 29.4% compared with the same period a year earlier.
