Matt Hullum and Burnie Burns have teamed up for a Christmas horror-comedy film titled Bad Toys. The project is in development, with Hullum serving as writer-director and Burns as executive producer, according to Variety.
Bad Toys is inspired by medieval Christmas elf folklore. Suzanne Weinert of Flatiron Pictures serves as producer.
Pre-production on the film is expected to begin in early 2027, with a theatrical release slated for around Christmastime 2027.
The project brings Hullum and Burns back together after their years at Rooster Teeth, the online entertainment label the pair helped build. Rooster Teeth launched in 2003 and became known for the web series Red vs. Blue and channels like Achievement Hunter. In 2015, the company was acquired by Otter Media, which was later acquired by AT&T and then Warner Bros.
