Fox Drops First Full Trailer for Baywatch Reboot, Premiering January 2027

Stephen Amell plays Hobie Buchannon in Fox's Baywatch reboot, which debuts in January 2027 after the first full trailer arrived.

Fox has released the first full official trailer for its Baywatch reboot series, which is set to premiere in January 2027. The trailer opens on disaster at sea: a plane crashes into the water, and lifeguards dive to the ocean floor to pull the pilot free.

Stephen Amell leads the cast as Hobie Buchannon, the son of the character David Hasselhoff played in the original series. The trailer also shows a beach on fire, a large explosion and slow-motion shots of lifeguards running along the sand. Megan Thee Stallion makes a brief appearance.

Amell is joined by Jessica Belkin, who plays Charlie Vale, along with Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck, Livvy Dunne and Brooks Nader. David Chokachi, a star of the original Baywatch, has a recurring role.

Matt Nix serves as showrunner and executive producer. Fox and Fremantle are producing the series.

From the original run to the reboot

The original Baywatch first aired in 1989 and starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, running for 11 seasons and producing the spin-off Baywatch Hawaii. A later film reboot led by Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron drew negative reactions.
