BBC Announces Animated Preschool Doctor Who Series TARDIS Crew
BBC's Cbeebies will get Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew, an animated preschool series featuring an entirely new incarnation of the Doctor.
The BBC has announced a new animated Doctor Who series titled Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew, aimed at preschoolers and headed to the Cbeebies channel. The show will introduce an entirely new incarnation of the Doctor, according to screenrant.com.
In the BBC's description, the new Doctor is young and shares design similarities with his companion Hannah. His animated design looks nothing like any previous regeneration, marking a visual departure from the long-running character's established looks.
The Doctor is confirmed to return in 2027 or 2028 in Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew. No other scheduling details were announced.
A franchise with a long regeneration history
Doctor Who debuted in 1963, with William Hartnell playing the First Doctor. The concept of regeneration has allowed the character to be recast repeatedly across decades, and the New Who era's season 12 introduced the Timeless Child revelations and Jo Martin's Fugitive Doctor.
