Black Bag to Join Hulu's Library on November 2

The Steven Soderbergh spy thriller, starring Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett, lands on Hulu the day after Assassin's Creed begins streaming there.

Black Bag is set to join Hulu's library of licensed titles on November 2, according to screenrant.com. The Steven Soderbergh-directed spy thriller will be the only feature film added to the platform that day.

Michael Fassbender stars in the film as George T. Woodhouse, with Cate Blanchett playing Kathryn St. Jean. David Koepp wrote the screenplay. Black Bag is arriving on Hulu one day after Assassin's Creed, the 2016 video game adaptation that also stars Fassbender, begins streaming on the service.

The film's arrival on Hulu follows its departure from Peacock's library, which takes place four days after the report. Also joining Hulu on November 2 are several TV titles, including Desperately Devoted season 1, The Promise: Finding My Mother's Killer season 1 and Start Here season 1.

A theatrical underperformer that found a streaming audience

Black Bag was released in theaters on March 14, 2025, and grossed $43.8 million against a reported budget of roughly $50 million. Six months after its theatrical release, it became a streaming hit on Prime Video. The film holds a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score, the best-reviewed Michael Fassbender movie.

Fassbender also leads The Agency, which debuted in December 2024 and returned for a second season in June 2026.
