Cappu Films has signed on as worldwide sales agent for the sci-fi action thriller Overstake, written and directed by Stas Mareev, according to Variety. The company is introducing the project to buyers at the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Contents & Film Market.
Overstake pairs a live-action shoot with settings rebuilt through generative AI. Because that AI work is still in progress, buyers in Busan will see a promo and a handful of finished sequences rather than a completed film.
The cast includes Konstantin Adaev, Vika Tokareva, Oleg Chernov, Konstantin Sidikhin, Denis Starkov and Sergey Russkin.
