Prime Video greenlights Carrie Season 2, Mike Flanagan confirms
Showrunner Mike Flanagan also told Deadline that work on the Warhammer 40,000 series has been "the time of my life".
Prime Video has greenlit a second season of Carrie, showrunner Mike Flanagan said in an interview with Deadline. The renewal follows the series' debut on the service on October 7, 2026.
In the same conversation, Flanagan discussed the Warhammer 40,000 series he is working on, saying the project has been "the time of my life". He described the show as having a "very cool and unexpected on-ramp".
Flanagan also framed his Carrie as an "anti-Carrie" compared with Stephen King's version. The series stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie.
Carrie premiered as Prime Video's top show in the week of its October 7 launch and was the top streaming title in the U.S. between October 5 and 11. Brian DePalma's adaptation of King's novel first released 50 years ago, in 1976.
Amazon MGM Studios has pushed into young adult content in recent years with The Summer I Turned Pretty, Maxton Hall – The World Between Us and Off Campus. Flanagan previously told Collider that in a "dream scenario" the show would run to three seasons.
