Celine Dion to Sing Paul McCartney Songs in 'High in the Clouds'
Universal Music Group will release the soundtrack worldwide; Dion also voices Sugartail, mother of the film's main character Wirral.
Celine Dion will perform original songs written and composed by Paul McCartney for the 3D animated feature "High in the Clouds," with Universal Music Group set to release the soundtrack worldwide, according to Deadline.
Dion also voices Sugartail, the mother of the film's main character, Wirral. Himesh Patel, Hannah Waddingham and McCartney himself lend their voices to original musical performances in the picture.
Michael Giacchino composed the original score based on McCartney themes. Toby Genkel directs the film, which traces its origins to McCartney's 2005 children's novel co-written with Philip Ardagh and illustrated by Geoff Dunbar.
Gaumont will present an exclusive work-in-progress screening of "High in the Clouds" at the upcoming American Film Market. The film has already been sold in major territories, including the UK (Sky UK Ltd.), German-speaking territories (Constantin Film) and Latin America (Imagem), with CAA Media Finance handling North America.
The announcement follows Dion's return to the stage: ten days before the report, she completed the first leg of a comeback concert residency in Paris, drawing some 550,000 spectators across 16 shows.
