Chris Pratt Says Star-Lord Will Return to the MCU
Pratt said Marvel has taken concrete steps to bring Star-Lord back but that he is not allowed to say when it will happen.
Chris Pratt said Star-Lord will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, telling The Playlist's Bingeworthy podcast that Marvel has taken concrete steps to make the return happen. He said he is not allowed to say when it will occur.
Pratt, who plays the character, said he has a good relationship with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and Marvel executive Lou D'Esposito. He did not give further details about the project or its timing.
The character's return was first teased on screen: a credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 promised that Star-Lord would be back.
Pratt has played Star-Lord across six films, among them Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Endgame. Months before this interview, he said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he had pitched Marvel an idea for bringing the character back.
The next MCU film, Avengers: Doomsday, is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18.
