Cinetic Media Launches Vertical Leap for Athletes

Cinetic Media unveils Vertical Leap, a $25,000-a-year investment and producing pathway giving pro athletes access to vetted documentary projects.

Cinetic Media has launched Vertical Leap, an investment vehicle and producing pathway designed to bring professional athletes into the documentary business. Membership costs $25,000 per year for athletes.

Participants are pitched a minimum of 10 documentary projects vetted from established directors and producers, giving them a curated entry point rather than a open call.

Cinetic founder John Sloss has signed up 10 prominent athletes and plans to expand to 50 current and former players. Three college footballers from the Michigan Wolverines are pooling part of their name, image and likeness earnings for a membership.

Two people have been repositioned from the Cinetic team to run the initiative. Sloss will discuss the program publicly at the Zurich Summit, according to Deadline.
