CJ ENM says six 2026 titles topped Netflix globally
Three Fifth Season titles and three Studio Dragon dramas reached the top of Netflix charts, the company said, citing its multi-studio system.
CJ ENM said on October 21 that six of its works released this year topped Netflix's global rankings, according to techm.kr. The company attributed the results to a production system spanning studios in Korea, the US and Japan.
Three titles from its US studio Fifth Season reached No. 1 on Netflix. The period drama Eden of the East, starring Florence Pugh, and the crime thriller Beasts, directed by and starring Ben Affleck, both ranked No. 1 on Netflix in October, in the English TV and English film categories respectively.
On the Korean side, three Studio Dragon-produced titles topped Netflix's weekly global non-English show chart: Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia, Wonderful New World and True Education. The tvN 20th-anniversary special The Lie of 100 Days placed 8th on FlixPatrol's global Netflix TV show Top 10 last week.
Co-productions and Tving originals
The Korea-Japan co-production Merry Berry Love, made by CJ ENM with Japan's NTV and starring Ji Chang-wook and Imada Mio, ranked 2nd on Disney+'s worldwide TV show chart and entered the Top 10 in 72 countries and regions. The Tving original Yumi's Cells Season 3 ranked No. 1 on Rakuten Viki's weekly chart in 81 countries including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Oceania.
The Tving original The Legend of the Cook ranked 2nd overall and in drama on Japan's Disney+ in its first week and reached the Korean drama Top 3 in 17 Asia-Pacific countries on HBO Max, while the recently ended Lotto 1st Place Goes to Work Too ranked No. 1 in Disney+ Japan's drama category in its first week and at the time of its finale.
In April 2026, CJ ENM established the joint venture Studio Monowa with Japan's TBS and U-NEXT Holdings. CJ ENM and Fifth Season are also developing more than 10 joint film and drama projects combining Korean themes and sensibilities. In Netflix's 2026 first-half viewing report, His Story & Her Story recorded 104 million cumulative views, the most among all series.
