The DCU horror film stars Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen and is directed by James Watkins.
Warner Bros.' R-rated horror film Clayface opens in theaters on October 23, 2026, according to screenrant.com. The DCU project is directed by James Watkins and is set in Gotham City.
Tom Rhys Harries stars as Matt Hagen, the man who becomes Clayface. Naomi Ackie plays Dr. Caitlin Bates.
The film enters a DCU that has not yet cast its Batman. James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios and a producer on the project, said in January 2026 that the studio was well into Batman 2 and did not want to cloud the Batsphere until after that film.
Gunn's stance points to a staggered rollout for Gotham-based characters. Matt Reeves' Batman 2, which he produces and directs, has been paused due to a family tragedy.
