Dark Matter season 2 is climbing Apple TV+ streaming charts ahead of its Oct. 30 finale, ranking fourth globally as of Oct. 4, according to MovieWeb.

New episodes of the season release on Fridays, with the finale set for Oct. 30. Over the past week, the series ranked between fourth and eighth in the United States and appeared in the top ten in multiple countries.

The series stars Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly and is adapted from Blake Crouch's novel. Season 1 premiered on May 7, 2024 and followed physicist Jason Dessen through alternate lives.

Crouch told Collider that being off-book for season 2 "scared the shit out of" him because they had used all the book material. Season 2 currently holds a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, slightly ahead of the first season.

Crouch and executive producer Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry confirmed the series was designed as a trilogy with a third season mapped out. Apple has not yet ordered a third season.
